Shearwater, number 5 on the site map, is a single-bedroom haven with an open-plan living and dining area, and large picture windows with south facing views.
The light and airy living area, furnished beautifully with natural materials, includes an armchair and sofa bed (mattress toppers available on request). Maps, guidebooks, and games are on the shelves.
The TV is equipped with Amazon Prime and Netflix and there is super fast WiFi. The adjoining dining snug, comfortably seating four with soft cushions, is perfect for meals, games, or relaxation while enjoying views over the gardens.
The living area seamlessly connects to a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, grill, ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, cafetière, hand blender, all necessary cookware, and a selection of local teas and coffee. A window overlooks the bird-filled Devon wall and hedging.
The spacious double bedroom provides a peaceful sanctuary with high quality bedding and views of natural planting and a Devon hedge. Shearwater's bathroom features a bath with a shower over and natural slate flooring. Towels, toilet rolls, kitchen paper, and eco-friendly cleaning products are provided.
Outside, the private terrace with seating amid lovely plants, is ideal for a summer breakfast or evening relaxation under Exmoor's dark starlit skies.
All of our cottages are designed with the environment in mind from the furnishings and consumables to solar panels providing most of the energy. We are rewilding over 11 acres of fields with winding mown paths through and spaces to picnic or play. Eco credentials page.
On-site there are two EV chargers and ample parking with easy accessibility. There is a guest utility room with two washing machines, two dryers, airers, irons, and ironing boards. The utility room also houses a well-stocked lending library with books, indoor games, puzzles, and outdoor games for field use.
Additionally, there is a light and airy art room with a basic stock of art materials available for guest use. During quieter months, it may be in use for art courses, so availability varies. Visit our art course page for details of our courses.
